There's a reason why ports for the last-gen systems should not be made if you can't include the main features.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III is a first-person shooter game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. It was released in 2015 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows. The game's PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, the seventh-generation consoles, have less powerful hardware; there were numerous changes to the last-generation version. This was also the last Call of Duty game released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Why They Suck

  1. The graphics are horrendous, and it's a huge downgrade and much worse than Advanced Warfare on PlayStation 3/Xbox 360, to the point where it looks like a game released in the 2000s (something a PlayStation 2 game would look like in the past), even though it's not, and it's nothing like the PS4/Xbox One versions.
  2. Most animations, say the reloading animation, for example, are highly stiff and loose; they don't even look like proper reload animations like what they are in the game's Xbox One and PS4 versions (which are way better).
  3. Even if this version only has multiplayer and zombies (as the box art on both versions suggests), they are still atrocious due to the graphics above and animation issues and are not what the Xbox One, PS4, or PC versions have.
  4. These versions lack the main feature of what the Call of Duty franchise usually has, the Campaign mode (the nightmare mode is also unavailable). The previously mentioned multiplayer and zombie modes are only available for these parts. It was planned to have the same campaign as the eighth-gen version, but there wasn't time to polish it because of the difficulty of developing last-gen consoles and the deadlines.
  5. In addition to the previous point, a large number of features from the main versions are missing, which are the following:
    • Dead Ops Arcade 2: Cyber's Avengening.
    • Multiplayer beta.
    • Paintshop.
    • Gunsmith.
    • Ground War.
    • Fracture.
    • Prop Hunt.
    • Infected.
    • Nuk3town Map and its personalization pack.
    • Season Pass.
    • Theater Mode.
    • Specialist's customization.
    • Gibbing.
    • Emblem Editor.
    • Split Screen.
    • Black Market (Supply Drops). These game versions completely lack all Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary camos, new weapons, Calling Cards, Emblems, Stickers, Reticles, gear for the Specialists, taunts, all weapon attachment variants, and contracts.
    • Blackjack Mercenary.
    • III Camouflage, Weaponized 115 Camouflage, and Cyborg Pack camos are unavailable.
    • Cryptokeys and COD Points; however, the players will only have Liquid Divinium for three vials: 15 with two bonuses, 30 with six bonuses, and 60 with 15 bonuses.
    • All of these factors mentioned show that getting the PS3/X360 versions of the game is entirely pointless because if they don't have the main features the next-gen consoles have, there's no point in getting them.
  6. Awakening and The Giant are the only DLCS for this version; the other DLCs are utterly unavailable for these versions (Eclipse, Descent, Salvation, and Zombies Chronicles).
  7. There's no point in even playing these ports anymore; the player base in the PS3/Xbox 360 platforms is dead. If you want to play Black Ops III, play it on PS4, Xbox One, or PC because they have the already-mentioned main features that the PS3/Xbox 360 don't have.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Black Ops III is a much better game outside of these ports because they have the main features the PS3/Xbox 360 versions don't have; the graphics are much better. Yes, the franchise doesn't do the game any justice, but it's still one of the better Call of Duty games released in the modern day (2013-present).
  2. The game can sometimes be exciting for PS3/Xbox 360 players.
  3. Despite what was said, this is the only way to play Black Ops III without the infamous supply drops; however, you don't get the special weapons that come with said supply drops.
