Summary

Everyone is tired of changing Baby Smurf's diapers, so Handy invents "Diaper Daddy", a robot that changes Baby's diapers for him. A few days later, two Smurfs unknowingly spill paint on the robot, causing him to spiral out of control. To make matters worse, it goes near Gargamel's house. The Smurfs must find ways to stop the robot.

Why it Rocks

  1. Baby Smurf is reintroduced in this episode, which is an interesting return, given the fact that he hasn't been seen in any media since Season 9 of the original Smurfs cartoon Show.
  2. The Diaper Daddy is a refreshing throwback to the Clockwork Smurf, as both characters were made by Handy and are treated as father-son.
  3. Funny moments, such as Gargamel getting his butt singed by laser beams and Diaper Daddy throwing Dimwitty in the air.
  4. Everyone is still likeable here, most notably Grouchy, who risks his own life to save Baby.
  5. Good animation and voice acting.
  6. Half-Decent Ending: Baby is saved from Diaper Daddy as the Smurfs are glad he and Grouchy are okay, and Baby now needs his diaper changed again.

Bad Qualities

  1. Handy makes a sexist comment towards Smurfette in the beginning, as he says changing diapers is a girly thing, which isn't true at all.
  2. On a certain level, the Smurfs in the 80´s cartoon hardly had a problem in changing Baby Smurf´s diapers. Here, all of them hide and run. Handy even build Diaper Daddy so he didn't have to do it, partially showing how the Smurfs have gained wimpiness in this.
  3. Half-Bad Ending: Even though Baby is saved, he still needs his Diaper changed, and the Smurfs argue amongst themselves as they don't want to do it.
