Could've been a lot better if Disney released it in 2005, and have the film be on a higher budget.

Stitch! The Movie is a 2003 American direct-to-video animated science fiction comedy film produced by Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Television Animation and Rough Draft Korea, released on August 26, 2003. It is produced by Tony Craig, Jess Winfield, and Roberts "Bobs" Gannaway; Gannaway also co-wrote and co-directed with Winfield and Craig, respectively. It is the second film released in the Lilo & Stitch franchise and the third film chronologically, taking place after the 2002 first film and (by later extension) the 2005 direct-to-video sequel Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch.
The film also serves as the backdoor pilot of the spin-off sequel series Lilo & Stitch: The Series, which Craig, Winfield, and Gannaway executive produced and debuted the following month. The story is an introduction to Dr. Jumba Jookiba's 625 experiments (made prior to Stitch) that he created with the financing of Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel.
Why It's Not Family
- The animation is a massive downgrade from that of the previous film, even to the film's follow-up, which had even better animation than this film.
- Many of the returning characters have been badly flanderized beyond their old selfs.
- TBD.
- Bad direction from Tony Craig and Bobs Gannaway.
Redeeming Qualities
- It's the first appearance of both Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel and Reuben, who would later to go on to become franchise mainstays, and their one of the few likable characters that debuted in this film
- The acting is still great, thanks to almost all of the actors returning to voice their characters (well, except for Dee Bradley Baker as David).
- Very great soundtrack.
- Cobra Bubbles is the only likable character, as he is the only character who wasn't flanderized.
- Thankfully the franchise's third film, Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch saved the franchise and was deemed by fans of the franchise to be a step-up from this (possibly due to having a PG rating).
Reception
Upon release, Stitch! The Movie was left with overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics, audiences and fans of the franchise alike.
Trivia
- This is the first Disney film to use the "seventh flag" variant of the 1985 Walt Disney Pictures logo, and not be a Disneytoon Studios production.
