420 Blaze It (full name: GAME OF THE YEAR: 420BLAZEIT vs. xxXilluminatiXxx [wow/10 #rekt edition] Montage Parody The Game) is a freeware first-person shooter game designed by Andy Sum (the same developer who created Crossy Road) for the 7DFPS (7 Day FPS) competition from itch.io. The game is a mockery against the oversaturation of the FPS genre, the obnoxious PC gamers, the greedy AAA industry and the corrupt game journalism.

Similar to Hong Kong 97 and Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing, nowadays the game has a little cult following and some spiritual sucessors. The game has its own wiki.

Plot

You control a secret agent from the Major League Gaming who is in a quest to defeat the Illuminati and save all the mankind from their influence. At the end of the game it is revealed that the protagonist's boss himself, xXSWAGNEMITE#YOLO420Xx, is an Illuminati member and that the mission was a setup. After eliminating numerous Illuminati soldiers, the game ends with xXSWAGNEMITE#YOLO420Xx surrounding the player character, but their fate is not shown.

Why It Intentionally Gets REKT 420 Times

Note: This game is intentionally bad.

  1. The camera is hypersensitive to mouse movement to the point of being practically uncontrollable.
  2. The game is filled with various assets with little modifications. The developer actually admitted it in the readme.txt file that came with the game.
  3. Only two enemies were used in the whole game; the soldiers with a meme image slapped into their face, and Shrek (as a boss).
  4. Clunky weapon selection system.
  5. About ten minutes of gameplay if you don't get stuck.
  6. Excessive use of internet memes, which pop up out of nowhere when you kill enemies. In some segments, the game is almost unplayable due to random lighting filters and various memes blocking the screen while the enemies attack you.
  7. Crazy score system. At the end of the game, the score can go up into more than 100 million.
  8. Lack of any challenge whatsoever due to enemies that can deal only small amount of damage even when they swamp the player, and the player can recharge their health via eating Doritos or drinking Mountain Dew.
  9. Borderline terrible grammar on the game itself and the official website.
  10. Extremely convoluted and nonsensical storyline.
  11. The online version has a long loading time, but the game still having about only ten minutes of gameplay.
  12. After the game ends, it automatically shuts itself down.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The game is so crazy that is funny, especially if you're an MLG fan.
  2. The game is intentionally made to mock the worst of the actual gaming industry.
  3. Good music. If you love dubstep, glitch-hop, drum-n-bass and every other electronic music subgenre, this is the game for you.
  4. Decent gunplay with satisfying explosions when hitting enemies.
  5. The music gets intense when the player kills a large amount of enemies or getting to certain rooms, which can hype up the player.
  6. The player can restart the game at anytime by pressing F12, which can negate WIS #12.
  7. Pressing F1 gives the player info on the controls.
