A Law for Christmas is a romantic Christmas movie directed by Simon Wesley, starring Joshua Wesley and Samantha Lathe. The film was released on November 15, 2023.
Plot
A young and aspiring politician, Gloria, has to leave the city for her career and discovers true love in the countryside.
Why It’s the Worst Christmas Movie
- You can consider the movie to be way too long, with it being at 2 and a half hours of just the characters talking to each other.
- The acting feels very fake and awful.
- If the acting wasn’t bad enough, it’s on par with the quality of the production.
- The plot feels rushed, and it makes it feel like the movie has absolutely no substance whatsoever. And to make things worse, the plot of the film has already been done thousands of times already.
- The leads have barely any chemistry at all.
- It can get very boring and dull at times, due to the span of the film. Nothing happens in the film; it’s just talking.
- When Gloria Winters is appointed secretary of agriculture, it appears that you simply become secretary of agriculture easily, but this is not the case.
- It doesn't help when you consider that she attempted to steal money from farmers, which is unlawful, no pun intended.
- The film itself is trying to capitalize off of Christianity and Christians themselves.
- We meet another key character in the film, whose name is "Christian Baker"—enough said.
- Speaking of Christian Baker, he feels like such a one-dimensional character that they just threw him in to make him Gloria’s love interest.
- The sets are exceedingly false, like the scene where Gloria and Christian walk through the snow, which looks more like strange soap.
- They have to state how the characters feel at times and state why they do the things they do, which can be very annoying.
- Most of the scenes seem pointless at times, such as Gloria's life story, which takes up 5 minutes of back-and-forth dialogue.
