"Agent X" is the eighth episode in the first season of The Garfield Show.

Plot

Nermal meets a cat, so-called "Agent X", who claims to be a secret agent. Garfield becomes jealous as Agent X tells everyone about his adventures of saving people.

Why It Rocks

  1. The plot is decent, as it has Nermal meeting a cat in the garbage can called "Agent X", who claims to be a secret agent.
  2. Speaking of which, Agent X is a decent character and him telling everyone about his secret agent stories was great to watch.
  3. Even though he was actually a household pet called "Puppykitts", at least he felt remorse when being chased by Mr Tig.
  4. Garfield growing jealous of Agent X can be kind of justified, due to him taking some of his food (his lasagna for dinner & his bowl he was gonna have for breakfast).
  5. Garfield and the mice going undercover to see if Agent X is a secret agent or just a fraud was interesting, and watching Garfield expose "Agent X" as a fraud was satisfying, and ended up being true - making his jealousy more justified.
  6. Good Ending: Garfield returns Puppykitts back to his owner's home to avoid getting tortured by Mr Tig, and it ends with Garfield telling the cats that Puppykitts is out of the secret agent business for a very long time and Arlene calling him brave.

Bad Qualities

  1. Although "Agent X" wasn't being too harmful, he did take some of Garfield's food (his lasagna for dinner & his breakfast bowl) without asking, which is pretty inconsiderate.
  2. Mediocre Plot Twist: It turns out that "Agent X" is really a household pet named Puppykitts as Garfield and the mice found out when looking into his owner's house.

Reception

It holds a rating of 5.9/10 on IMDB.
