Alice in Wonderland is a 2010 direct-to-video animated film made by Cinematronic, it used to be lost media due to it's obscurity until it became a creepypasta.

Plot

Alice dreams of travelling to a strange and wonderful country underground.

Why It (Intentionally?) Sucks

  1. Though it is technically just another adaptation of Lewis Carroll's original novel, the movie was suspiciously released less than two weeks before the live-action version of Alice in Wonderland by Tim Burton that was released in theatres, making it feel like a cash-grab rather than an adaptation.
  2. Atrocious animation that looks like it was done in Google Slides, the animation also looks pretty creepy given that the character designs look so crudely made which gives off the implication that the film is made on a very low budget.
  3. Terrible writing. There are many points in the film where Alice does idiotic things with poor reasoning.
  4. Poor quality audio that was actually stolen from the 1948 NBC radio broadcast.
  5. As mentioned previously, the animation results in the creepiest character designs to be ever made.
    • Alice looks very poorly drawn, and her football-shaped head makes her look like a female Arnold Shortman from Hey Arnold!.
    • The Duchess is an overweight African-American woman with large lips.
    • The Gryphon looks more like a dragon, rather than a bird.
    • The dodo looks more like a pelican, instead of looking more like a Dodo.
    • The eagle hardly looks like a bird.
  6. Unlikable characters, especially Alice, who is not faithful to her book counterpart and her Disney counterpart as well.
  7. False advertising: The back cover of the DVD claims that it has "cutting edge animation," meaning that the animation is state of the art, but in the movie, the animation is made in 2D, and it isn't state of the art in the least.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The music, while stolen, is quite nice to listen to.
  2. It spawned a good creepypasta called MS Paint Alice in Wonderland.

Reception

The movie received an overwhelmingly negative reception from critics and audiences, criticizing the animation, voice acting, and uncanny character designs. IMDb gave it a 2.5 out of 10.
