Angry Birds Action! is a pinball-action game in the Angry Birds series to promote The Angry Birds Movie.

Good Qualities

1. The idea of having an Angry Birds-themed pinball game is a well executed idea.
2. The Big Pig Update was an improvement as it made Piggy Island available from the start, added new pigs to the game and featured a song from De La Soul called Action.
3. The game had a very catchy theme song. See it for yourself.
4. The BirdCodes were a well executed idea as you could scan BirdCodes in the real world with the game to access mini-games, take a selfie with the characters from the game, and more.
5. You could also use the game to scan an inaudible digital watermark which depending on the version of the film you're watching plays an exclusive scene and unlocks a special feature.
6. While the movie wasn't as good, this game was still decent. Does it remind you of another game?

Bad Qualities

1. Some of the pigs' designs such as Corporal Pig's look a bit ugly.
2. The story was unfortunately removed in the Big Pig Update.
3. Judge Peckinpah was still a bit unlikable in this game but not as much in the movie.

Reception

The game received positive reception from reviewers according to Metacritic with a 75% rating on the site while the user score is 4.2/10 on the same site which is generally unfavorable reviews.

Trivia

• Hal and the Hug Trader were planned to appear in the game but didn’t appear before the game was discontinued though the former made a cameo in the Wheel of Fortune.
