Animaniacs (2020) causes backlash due to a poster mocking Johnny Depp

Timing hasn't been this awkward since Nickelodeon's announcement of Kamp Koral in 2019.

In the Animaniacs (2020) reboot, in the very first episode's segment Suspended Animation (Part 2), in the song's "Reboot It" sequence, a scene shows two posters, one referencing the nursery rhyme "Johny Johny Yes Papa" called "Johnny: The Beginning" and controversially the other one featuring Johnny Depp in a film called "Johnny 2: Telling Lies", that caused a massive controversy on the internet of the show's fans and fans of Johnny Depp, due for airing a few weeks after the unfortunate loss of Johnny Depp's lawsuit against newspaper The Sun, of publications on the abusive treatment of his abusive ex-wife Amber Heard, that caused Warner Bros. firing him from the Fantastic Beasts franchise, causing a boycott against Warner Bros., as well as a boycott against the Animaniacs 2020 reboot.

Likely, the joke was poorly timed and the makers of the show didn't think of the outcome, and probably weren't even aware of the abuse allegations (the episode was written in 2018). People say that Depp's scissors in the fake poster referenced his finger being severed, but it's a reference to Edward Scissorhands.
