Why It Sucks
- Too much poor understanding of source material: This spin-off in addition to being useless is an insult to the film and also to the books in which they are adapted.
- Horrible, lazy CGI animation with awful character design that screams "it's for kids" thing.
- The characters have been flanderized:
- Arthur went from a smart, endearing kid to a boring Gary Stu.
- Selenia suffered the same fate as Arthur by becoming a Mary Sue.
- Betameche has become a stupid and unlovable idiot.
- Darkos went villainous for no apparent reason besides becoming a Butt-Monkey.
- Plot Hole: How did Maltazard escape from the kitchen cupboard where he was stuck?
- Awful and forgettable dubbing especially that of Betameche.
- The writing alternates from mediocre to downright terrible.
- Also, why do a preschool cartoon on a film that contains somewhat violent scenes and yet because of that everything is stupidly censored?
- Overall, it's forgettable and ruined the franchise before Arthur, malédiction came out.
Redeeming Qualities
- At least it's still better than Arthur, malédiction.
- The character designs are okay, despite being horrible and lazy CGI.
Reception
Despite an astonishing 5.9/10 on IMDb, the cartoon has received negative reception from fans of the franchise as it holds a 2.9/10 on Senscritique.
