"Baby, It’s Cold Inside" is the fifth episode of Family Guy's twenty-second season. It premiered on November 12, 2023 on Fox.

Plot

When Peter abandons Lois in the middle of a shark attack on their anniversary, he feels emasculated; meanwhile, Stewie gets a mini fridge and enjoys the dorm lifestyle.

Why It’s Too Cold

  1. Peter is at his worst in this episode when he forgets his and Lois' anniversary, but that's not even the worst part. Later in the episode, Seamus suggests to Peter that he take Lois for a boat ride, and Peter complies. Lois is enjoying the date so far that she decides to go skinny-dipping with Peter. Everything is going well until Lois notices a fin approaching her and Peter. And what about Peter? He pushes her underneath the water and flees in the boat, abandoning Lois.
  2. They didn't make funny jokes in the episode, such as the coin segment and the Chris Daughtry cameo that was in live-action.
  3. This episode is just another example of why they should stop making Peter and Lois fight; it’s unhealthy, and viewers would much prefer a story where Peter and Lois aren’t completely toxic to each other.
  4. The Shining reference in the B-plot with Stewie and Brian happened to be very lazy and out of place.
  5. The animation looks pretty bland, as always.
  6. The b-plot with Stewie becoming a frat boy is very forgettable and stupid.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. At least Lois didn’t stay in the water for too long after Peter abandoned her, since it was actually a dolphin coming to save her.
  2. Lois gets rightfully upset with Peter after the situation with him and the date. She even goes so far as to say that she will never trust him again.
  3. Despite not deserving to be saved for his selfish acts, Lois actually beats up a shark to save her husband.
  4. Lois and Brian are likable.
  5. Although it was not really funny, Chris Daughtry’s cameo was neat as he appears in live-action, which fans of Daughtry and his band will like

Reception

It currently has a 6.1/10 rating on IMDb so far with 170+ reviews.
