Baby Mouth is the 36th episode of the 6th season of Teen Titans Go!.
Synopsis
In order to find out about his family history, Robin takes a DNA test and discovers he's from Babylon.
Why It Has No Mouth
- The biggest problem with this episode is that it’s racist to Babylon and it’s culture.
- The episode relies on an unfunny joke portraying Babylonians as actual babies just because the word “baby” is in the word, which is the most stupid and obvious joke you can make with it.
- While Babylon is a dead nation, it was nothing like how it was depicted in this episode. Babylon is depicted as an ABDL paradise, where the natives are really just people who disproportionately small parts of their anatomy. It’s creepy. They are also obsessed with baby things such as milk, baby toys, lullabies, nursery rhymes, and baby food. However, one thing they got right was that the Babylonians are bent on world domination just like in real life. But their way is far cruel. (Which will be explained below)
- Not to mention, the Babylonians have very uncreative names as they’re named after their anatomy and nothing more. (e.g. Baby Ears)
- Lady Baby gums teething on Beast Boy is disgusting.
- The beginning of the episode is hard to sit through because Robin does nothing more than just constantly cries, while he’s crying for a good reason (his parents died), it’s still very jarring and can get annoying really fast.
- Lord Baby mouth is clearly designed after Kronk in the Disney movie, “The Emperor's New Groove” which can be insulting to those who enjoyed the film.
- The Titans are also talking about their families (which caused Robin’s constant crying in the first place) and they not only talk about their families, they are also shown onscreen as closeups and they’re very horrifying!
- While Robin being Babylonian is an interesting idea, it was not hinted to in episodes prior.
- The climax of the episode is awful because the Babylonians try to use the Titans for world domination. Their way is too dark and sadistic for Cartoon Network because their way is to turn all the world’s population into babies. This is horrific on its own because babies can’t take care of themselves so the world’s population will eventually die of starvation, dehydration, and e.coli sepsis. This makes Babylon’s plan very cruel because it’s essentially genocide.
- Horrible Ending: The world’s problem didn’t get solved and Robin is now stuck with his age regressed team and he leaves Baby Beast Boy in a dirty diaper.
- After Robin saved the baby Titans they go home, but once they arrive Robin grows annoyed with them and doesn’t feed Baby Cyborg and change Baby Beast Boy’s dirty diaper, which is very cruel and neglectful.
Redeeming Qualities
- The baby designs for the characters are cute, but that's not saying much.
- Raven’s baby brothers from the comics can be seen.
- Batman and Commissioner Gordon make a cameo.
- At least the other Titans call Robin out for his excessive crying at the beginning of the episode, as it’s very annoying and jarring to listen to.
- Tara Strong, as always, does a good job with vocals for Lord Baby Mouth, and the voice acting is still decent as usual.
Trivia
- Tara Strong did the vocals for Lord Baby Mouth and she’s famously known for being talented at baby noises and voices Poof from “The Fairly OddParents”, Dil from “Rugrats”, and Roshan (infamously known as the “Ice Age Baby”) from "Ice Age" respectively.
