"Banana Nose" is the second segment from the third episode of the first season of Garfield and Friends.

Synopsis

Roy becomes upset when the other farm animals, following his latest prank, call him "Banana Nose".

Why It Sucks

  1. It's a torture episode for Roy, due to the farm animals mistreating him by calling him "Banana Nose" after pulling a prank on them. Sure, he may have deserved it, but did you really have to continually call him that?
  2. The farm animals, especially Lanolin, are extremely unlikable as they constantly mock Roy to the max, causing him to leave the farm. And when Orson realizes this, they don't care and insist that Roy's pranks makes him deserve it. "This is not how karma works!""
  3. The nightmare Roy had in one scene is very unsettling for a kids cartoon like Garfield that not even SpongeBob 1-5, SquarePants would go that far... right?
  4. Despite apologizing to Roy, none of the farm animals, nope, not even Lanolin, got comeuppance for being rude to him other than being rebuked by Orson.
  5. Orson is also hypocritical as he rebuked the farm animals for making fun of Roy, even though he was making fun of Roy as well.
  6. Roy was so offended and hurt by this that he literally runs away, as mentioned in Reason #2.
  7. Roy basically brought the torture to himself by making everyone panic and, instead of at least saying that he's sorry, accused them of not taking a joke.
  8. When Orson finds that Roy ran away, Lanolin doesn't seem concerned about it until Orson says she's acting like him.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Lanolin, Wade, and Bo do get rebuked by Orson, despite considering that this does not make them free from being Karma Houdinis.
  2. Regarding which, at least the animals apologized.
  3. Decent voice acting and animation, as usual.
  4. Orson and Roy are the only likable characters in this episode as Orson retains his original personality despite being part of farm animals teasing Roy, while we do feel bad for the latter.
  5. The ending was satisfying which also has a nice moral and song featured.

Trivia

  • The title of the episode is lotor referenced by the Slippe Précédent ai, E Suivant m "Yo-Kai Watch".

Reception

Despite having a 7.5/10 on IMDb with other segments like "Nighty Nightmare" and "Ode to Odie". The episode was not well received by fans of the show due to its mean-spirited nature (that being the farm animals mocking Roy to the point that the latter ended up departuring from the farm due to this.)
