Plot

Peter befriends a talking dolphin named Billy Finn, meanwhile, Brian hits on Stewie Griffin's daycare teacher, Ms. Emily.

Why It's Fishy (and Not in a Good Way)

  1. Brian was extremely unlikable on this episode where he hits on Ms. Emily and doesn’t care about Stewie.
    • In one scene, he prevents Stewie from calling Lois just so he can go on a date with Ms. Emily.
    • After finding out that Ms. Emily has a boyfriend, instead of leaving her, he gets her arrested even though he could've done that before.
  2. Ms. Emily is also unlikable since she doesn’t look after the kids and ties them to the sink to return a birthday present.
    • The episode never explains why Ms. Emily is abusive to the children she takes care of.
  3. Billy Finn's wife is unlikable as well since she kicked Billy Finn out for no explained reason.
    • In regard to Billy being kicked out, the episode immediately deems Billy as the one in the wrong for no reason other than being male and he is the one to apologize to his wife. This again shows the show’s willingness to enforce the unfair sex trope on the show’s couples.
  4. A couple of disturbing scenes in the daycare, such as a kid pooping in a crayon bucket and another kid using a dead kid's blood for paint.
    • One scene has Brian trying to fix Stewie's arm after it popped out of its socket.
    • Another scene has Peter literally killing two birds with one stone, which is pretty gory and cruel.
  5. Peter Griffin having the viewers read the cutaway instead of showing it is pretty lazy, even for Family Guy standards.
  6. The scene where Peter and Joe try to take off Quagmire's sun hat was kind of mean-spirited.
  7. Most of the jokes are weak such as Stewie reading a Lindsay Lohan scratch and sniff book and Billy Finn comparing Peter Griffin's penis to Mr. Snuffleupagus's penis.
  8. This quote: "JAPAN! THEY KILL THINGS THAT WE LIKE!"

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Peter (aside from the scenes where he throws Quagmire's hat away along with Joe and later killing two birds with a stone), Billy Finn, Stewie, Quagmire, and Joe are all likable in this episode.
    • Speaking of which, this is a decent introduction to Billy Finn, even though the episode wasn’t good, and Peter and Quagmire are not flanderized like they usually are.
  2. A few funny moments, such as Peter calling Carter and tricking him that he has a Mercedes and Brian rejecting the premise of Milo and Otis in a cutaway.
  3. Ms. Emily gets karma by getting arrested for child neglect and abuse.
  4. Good ending: Billy Finn and his wife get back together.
