A real-time dance music game hard and crappy. That's Beatmania (2006)! It's NOT so cool!

Beatmania is a music game released in 2006 for the PlayStation 2. It is the only console game in the Beatmania IIDX series to be released in North America.
Why It's POOR
- It lacks the wit and charm of both arcade and Japanese PS2 Beatmania IIDX games.
- It is a reskin of Beatmania IIDX 9th Style, with the interface being recolored in purple.
- It uses a 1-10 difficulty rating scale (the one used by Dance Dance Revolution from Max 2 to Supernova 2), which wasn't a good fit for the series.
- Horrible selection of songs, including forgettable licenses.
- Only 47 songs that were in the original Beatmania and Beatmania IIDX series are present.
- Some songs have timing problems.
- The grading system is worse comparing to other games in the series.
- No class mode.
- Free mode does not have an auto play feature.
- None of the characters from the Beatmania IIDX series appear in the results screen. As such, there is no gallery mode.
- Speaking of the characters, only a few appeared in videos.
Redeeming Qualities
- It has a replay mode, where you can watch the plays you recorded in free mode.
- There's a practice mode for beginners, which teaches the basics of the game.
Reception
Although Beatmania received mixed reviews from critics, having a Metascore of 67,[1] it was disliked by most long-time Beatmania and Beatmania IIDX fans.
