"Bicycles"

When riding a bike, always remember to wear your helmet. Otherwise, the bad qualities in this episode could happen to you.

"Bicycles" is the twelfth episode from the first season of Peppa Pig.

Plot

When Peppa gets teased for having a "baby bike", she asks her parents to teach her how to ride her bike without stabilizers.

Nearly everyone except for Mummy and Daddy Pig is unlikeable, mean-spirited, and dreadful because Peppa and her friends keep laughing at George riding on the hill and because his pedals move slow, and Peppa is saying he rides a baby bike.
While George was likeable in the beginning, he turns unlikeable when he laughs at Peppa falling off her tricycle. Then again, she laughed at him for having a so-called "baby bike".
When the episode first aired, the characters weren't wearing helmets. Not wearing a helmet can cause concussions when you get bonked on the head. Luckily, the animation was reworked to include helmets.
Peppa is very stupid here because she was looking at her friends instead of her father's pumpkin that gets destroyed. Even Daddy Pig warns everyone to not destroy his pumpkin.
- She should've listened to her dad, but instead, she wasn't looking where she was going, stares at his pumpkin instead of using the brakes, used them, gets flown away from her bike, and messed up his pumpkin.
- Before that, when Daddy Pig tells her to watch out, Peppa uses her brakes and almost made herself and the bike screech and fell over!
Danny Dog is out of character because he criticizes Peppa's bike saying it's a baby bike. Danny is usually the friendly one, but how he's portrayed in this episode is terrible; it's hypocritical of him to call her bike a baby bike due to him laughing at George as well.

Mummy and Daddy Pig are the only likeable characters in this episode.
- George at least didn't cry in this episode and was tolerable before he laughs at his sister falling off her bicycle.
- Peppa did apologize to her father for destroying his pumpkin.
Luckily, this episode was reanimated to show the characters having helmets.
The ending wasn't too bad.

It has a score of 5.5/10 on IMDb.

This episode sparked controversy when it first aired because none of the characters were wearing helmets or any form of protective gear. Later airings were edited to include helmets on the characters' heads.
This is the first episode to add bicycle helmets in the 2011 version following complaints about safety lack. They weren't sent until Season 2 was finished so helmets were added to all episodes from the first two seasons featuring bicycles before re-releasing in 2011.
In the 2011 version, the title card has moved to the top.
