Plot

Mr. Bean buys a birthday card for Irma, but he posted a wrong card that says, "Irma, you smell". So he has to go to the post office to get the wrong mail back.

Why It's A Birthday Bother

  1. Mr. Bean is a klutz in this episode as he accidentally put the wrong letter in the mail, thinking it is the correct one for Irma's Birthday.
  2. The security guard and the mailman are unlikable characters in this episode as the former kicks Mr. bean out by sneaking in the post office and the latter for getting away the wrong mail that Mr. Bean first wrote.
  3. This is a Mr. Bean torture episode as he finds the wrong letter after putting it in the mail box, on purpose.
  4. There is a filler scene where Mr. Bean, ruined the fat man's painting by sneezing.
  5. Speaking of that, the fat man is mad at the painter for ruining his painting, even though Mr. Bean did this on purpose, which makes Bean a Karma Houdini.
  6. Aside from that, there are some mean-spirited moments such as Mr. Bean, getting the wrong letter and him getting the wrong letter for Irma.
  7. Terrible Ending: As mentioned before, Mr. Bean gives the wrong letter to Irma, which ruins her birthday and he cannot invite her.
  8. The plot could have been completely avoided if Bean didn't write "Dear Irma you smell" and put it in a postcard.
  9. Like any other season 5 episode, the flash animation is bland, dull and unappealing.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Mr. Bean, despite being a klutz, Irma and the painter whose painting was destroyed by Mr. Bean are likable characters in this episode.
  2. The opening scene where Mr Bean, buys and writes a letter for Irma are good scenes.
  3. The factory scene, where Mr. Bean finds the wrong invitation is also a good scene.
