Bishōjo Senshi Sailor Moon: Another Story is a role-playing video game for the Super Famicom developed and published by Angel in 1995.
Why It Rocks
- The idea of making RPG games with Sailor Moon characters is neat idea.
- The graphics are great even for the 1995 standards, the sprite are clearly like Sailor Moon's characters from the anime.
- Not to Mention, the overworlds part, where you control the Airships is impressive, thanks to the Mode 7 graphics.
- The plot is very interesting, it takes place between Sailor Moon S and Super S with additional game exclusive story, The Apsu story, where the Sailor Soldier must fight against Apsu and the evil clone.
- There is some scenes that can be heartwarming for most people, like example Chibi Moon with Anshar. Awww!
- The Gameplay is interesting, just like typical RPG games. But, unlike all of RPG, the special attack act as MP (Magical point).
- The special attack is interesting, all special attack is perfectly like the anime counterpart.
- The formation system is pretty interesting, too, each formation has certain upgrades like defenses, attack, or both.
- Speaking of which, the voice samples is good. While the voice quality are little muffled, you can still hear and easy to understand to what kind of attack her use, and it shows.
- The bosses are pretty interesting, these bosses are from anime with a new original bosses that exclusively on these games.
- Tight Controls.
- The game are taking over 20 hours long, and this is the longest Sailor Moon games ever, with tons of replay value.
- The potion is unique but somewhat hilarious, like example Cream Bath.
- You can sell the item to the Trade shop, if you don't enough money.
Bad Qualities
- While the gameplay is interesting, it's somehow repetitive.
- Not to mention, the gameplay can be broken sometimes; the worst offender was comes to Sailor Jupiter itself, where Sailor Jupiter has overpowered stronger attack that easily to beat enemies at once.
- The level enemies is questionable, some of the enemies can take a minute to beat, while other (mainly bosses) could be take forever to beat.
- The encounters rate is also can be too high.
- While the voice samples are good to hear, the voice quality can be muffled, which may couldn't understand and hearing for some player.
