Blazing Fighter and Sword Soul are "fighting" games on the Lexibook TV Game Console. The reason these games are not in separate pages is because they are flat-out reskins of one another, sharing almost identical gameplay, controls, and even sound effects.
Why They Deserve to Be the Blazing Soulless
Overall
- Subpar graphics, looking more like a Nintendo 64 or early PlayStation 2 game than anything.
- Awkward and clunky controls. In Sword Soul, you have to mash all of the buttons and A together to do a "unique skill".
- Repetitive, on-loop music.
- Both games share the same exact sound effects as each other, and even controls as stated above.
- Both games are far too easy. In Blazing Fighter, if you pick the shortest character, your opponent's attacks can literally go over your head. In Sword Soul, you can easily win via two ways: projectile spamming, or jump attack spamming, both work effectively.
Blazing Fighter
- It is just a ripoff of Street Fighter, right down to the name.
- For some reason, all of the characters in stages have different names than they do in the main menu.
- In order to do a unique skill, it is very awkward. You have to mash all of the buttons together an A in order to do it as stated above.
- The in-game art is really poor. The developers were trying to go for a semi-realistic art style, but one of the dog's heads is literally floating in the background.
Sword Soul
- The character models are just recycled from other games on the console, showing laziness.
- One of the character's names is misspelled as "Fthan" rather than Ethan.
- The title of the game has poor grammar, as it's supposed to say "Sword's Soul" rather than "Sword Soul". Either way, it has nothing to do with the actual game, as a majority of the characters don't even use swords except for one character.
- The sound effect for when you choose a character is stolen from the original Sonic the Hedgehog, in which it is the bumper sound.
Redeeming Qualities
- Blazing Fighter's artwork in the main menu is at least cool to look at, and is probably one of the best-looking arts on the entire console.
- Both games can be ironically funny to play despite still being bad.
