BoBoiBoy is a Malaysian animated series and franchise produced by Animonsta Studios.
Synopsis
In this story, a young boy gains superpowers based on the elements, and has the ability to separate into different personas. With his friends, Hanna (Malay: Yaya), Ying, Gopal and Fang, they form a team and fight to protect the Earth from alien threats who aim to conquer the Earth.
Why It's Awesome
- This is the first superhero that can cloning and split into 3 (the latter is 5) and each clones has different elements with some minor personality difference. For Example:
- BoBoiBoy Lightning becoming BoBoiBoy Thunderstorm and this personality becoming angry.
- BoBoiBoy Winds becoming BoBoiBoy Cyclone because his personality becoming happy.
- BoBoiBoy Earth becoming BoBoiBoy Quake because he want to not want to look to his friends struggle and his personality is normal with slightly angry.
- The characters has also a superpower abilities, such as:
- Yaya was a gravity power.
- Ying was a speed power.
- Gopal was a molecule transformation.
- and Fang was a shadow power.
- The animation is very top-notch even by Malaysian animation standards.
- The characters is very likable, with some characters can be unlikable at times.
- The humor is absolutely good, and has so many funny moments that can laugh non-stop, such as:
- Yaya Cookies that can people stun when they eating it.
- PETAI is sounds like a vegetarian by many peoples.
- And most importantly, Adu Du getting angry and throwing the cup or hitting it with Spatula Electric to Probe is funny even his character can be unlikable due to constantly abuse to Probe unfairly.
- Not to mentioned, there's also so many tearjerker moments that can crying if you watching it.
- Adu Du origin story is very tragic and it revealed that he was a miner worker, until Probe is here and it buy the starship to getting Cocoa or Chocolate in Earth.
- Probe death is the most tearjerker moments in the Malaysian animation history. This is due to Probe getting shot by PETAI with laser cannon. And it really want to upgrade the robot into Mega Probe, the upgradable version of Super Probe.
- There's also tons of action scenes, such as BoBoiBoy vs. Multi Monsters, The first battle of BoBoiBoy and more.
- The voice acting is absolutely top-notch and Nur Fathiah Diaz (who previously voicing Upin Ipin during Season 1-3) did a good job to voicing him.
- Even from other dubs is still good.
- While the season 1 is more comedic tone, the season 2 and 3 is more action and has tons of backstory.
- Tons of memorable quote, including the famous one: BoBoiBoy, who saying "Awesome" or "Terbaik" in Malaysian and "Keren" In Indonesian.
- The design of the characters is good.
- The theme song and end credits song is memorable.
- It has a movie and his sequel series, which both of them are still great.
Qualities That Not Awesome
- Sometimes, the show can be slow-paced.
- Some characters can be unlikable:
- Adu Du is infamous villains, while he's a good villains, it's extremely abusive as he constantly getting beating with cup or Spatula Electric to Probe.
- Fang can be selfish, as he jealous to BoBoiBoy and it's not better since Papa Zola love Boboiboy, instead of Fang.
- Some episodes can be bad, notably for BoBoiBot episodes, as this guy is making BoBoiBoy's life miserable.
- There's some plot holes:
- How a Power Sphera create and when in the first series? this question will be answered in the next series, BoBoiBoy Galaxy.
- Those mobile games based on is mediocre to outright bad.
- Some animation can be clunky here and there, and has a animation error in some scenes.
