Boston Marathon 2013: Terror on the Streets is a side-scrolling "parody" game based on the terrorist attack that occurred on the Boston Marathon in 2013, that killed 3 and injured at least 264 people. The game was released a week after the terrorist attack took place.

Why It's an Absolute Terror

  1. The idea of making a game based on the Boston Marathon bombing is a really bad idea, as the game ends up being offensive and unsettling for the families of the victims, Boston citizens, and American people in general. The fact that this game was originally posted at the website Lolokaust, which is one of the most hideous and offensive websites ever created, doesn't help either.
  2. You play as a marathonist running with slaughtered people in the background, watching the protagonist as if nothing wrong is happening. There is even a man masturbating on the background.
    • The ending screen also has a profane insult directed at Barack and Michelle Obama for no reason at all.
  3. Unfairly difficult. Since it is a parody for classic NES games, this was done to hide the short game length. Should you not have a cheap death, the game is less than two minutes long.
  4. This is a just a cheap rip-off of Circus Charlie for the NES. All you do the entire game is jump over bombs.
  5. No options menu.
  6. The graphics were draw for the 640x480 resolution, which was not supported by most PC hardware at the time. Since there is no options menu, there is no way to adjust the game for the 1280x960 resolution, which is proportional and more common. When the player starts the game, it will automatically resize to the biggest screen size supported by their monitor, often warping the sprites and the animations.
