Broadcast Blues is the second half the 17th episode of the fifth season of The Loud House.
Plot
When Lincoln and his friends need new equipment due to the one they have is bad, they had to turn to Chandler for good equipment, but only if they let him be on the show.
Bad Qualities That Have The Blues Indeed
- To start things off, It is yet another dull Lincoln and his friends episode.
- Not only that, but it also counts as a torture episode for Lincoln and his friends.
- Chandler is at his worst in this episode. When Lincoln and his friends needed new equipment for their Action News show, he equipped them with some of the newest equipment but actually made it worse when he joined and made new segments that involves him being a bully like rudely slamming books off of students' hands, and it even went to making fun of a kid who got dumped because of the way he walks in his "Bro in the Know" segment.
- Some animation errors such as:
- When the crew talks about Chandler, Clyde's shoes were brown instead of black.
- When Chandler is giving the weather report, the borders between Illinois/Wisconsin/Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Kansas/Nebraska are missing, thus giving the two pairs of states to appear as one.
- Why couldn't Lincoln and his friends go to Principal Ramirez about their problem. If they did that, this could've been avoided and they could've gotten what they want.
- Right when Lincoln (along with his friends) has had it with Chandler and fires him, Chandler says that he can't be fired. Which is weird because as leader of the Action News Team, it kinda gives Lincoln the power to hire and/or fire anyone.
- It is revealed in this episode, that he has been selling stuff from his dad's sewage plant to get the money for the equipment he offered the team and doesn't want anyone knowing, which implies that he has no respect for his family.
Good Qualities That Have The Oranges Instead
- Everyone except Chandler are likable.
- There's tones of funny moments here and there:
- Rusty dressing up as a woman and interviewing Lynn can be seen as pretty hilarious.
- Good and hilarious ending: The crew finally managed to kick Chandler off the team by blackmailing him by threatening to expose their footage to his father unless he quits the news team. Even though they are left with no equipment, it gave Lincoln an idea to have the crew use their phones to do the show. And at the end, Chandler got a satisfying commupance by getting skunked by the same kid he made fun of earlier in the episode.
Reception
"Broadcast Blues" got mostly mixed-to-negative reviews from critics and The Loud House fans, some fans, even considering and calling it one of the worst episodes of season 5 of The Loud House.
