Caillou is a reboot of the original 1997 series of the same name, it had 5 CGI specials since July 2022. It premiered on February 15, 2024, on Peacock and Family Jr.

Qualities That Still Can't Grow Some More

  1. First off, rebooting a highly infamous series is not necessarily a good idea. Besides, Caillou's New Adventures is still running.
    • Granted, this series has a split audience, one side would be younger kids who like watching CNA, so there's no doubt why this reboot happened, because of the popularity among young children.
  2. It doesn't exactly improve anything over the original show or New Adventures as it still retains its flaws. The only exception is Caillou acts way more tolerable, despite being a worse Gary Stu.
  3. Poor, rough, and cheap CGI animation that looks like it came from a modern Kroger commercial. Even shows like Thunderbirds Are Go!, The Dragon Prince or Bubble Guppies have better animation this this.
  4. The characters are still mediocre or generic.
    • Caillou has gone back into being a Gary-Stu, but worse than Season 4-5.
    • Rosie has been flanderized to being more of a brat than she was in the original starting with the CGI special "Rosie the Giant".
  5. Average to mediocre specials and episodes, like "Rosie the Giant", which started this series of specials on a mediocre note.
  6. The voice acting, despite being decent, can still sound annoying and dull at times.

Qualities That Can Grow Some More

  1. There are even songs about the moral in the specials, which was also a nice touch.
  2. The characters, while still mediocre and generic, still have positive aspects:
    • Caillou, despite being a worse Gary Stu, is still surprisingly well-behaved in this reboot and more tolerable than he was in the original series or New Adventures, meaning he could be a better role model to children.
      • His new voice actor is a bit better, as he's finally been voiced by an actual child and boy, which is Logan Nicholson, despite still being loud and obnoxious.
      • There are even times when he isn't acting like a Gary Stu as he tends to suffer through some problems that he has to solve on his own.
      • Caillou sometimes learns his lesson, like when he finally shares his toys with Rosie in "Rosie the Giant".
    • Rosie, despite being flanderized and still being obniois, can be likable at times, and sympathetic, she can also be pretty smarter than her brother like how she figured out the clues in "The Pirate Captain's Treasure".
  3. A handful of good and decent specials and episodes here and there, like "The Pirate Captain's Treasure".
  4. Even though rebooting a bad series is not a good idea, it may still be nice to see a Caillou series on television, after fourteen years.
