Cat-Sitting is the 17th episode of Mr. Bean: The Animated Series
Plot
After Mrs. Wicket breaks her leg, Mr. Bean is forced to look after her pet cat, Scrapper.
Why It Doesn’t Deserve Cat-Sitting
- Scrapper is at his absolute worst on this episode since he causes problems for Mr. Bean after he is tasked to take care of him.
- It is also a Mr. Bean torture episode during the second half.
- Scrapper tries to eat Mrs. Wicket's goldfish while Mr. Bean tries to find something for Scrapper to eat and has him get hit on the head by a vase.
- Mr. Bean tries feeding Scrapper a banana, pineapple, lettuce, spaghetti, and tomatoes, which is something that cats don’t eat.
- Mr. Bean puts a can of cat food in a microwave to get it open even though that could be dangerous in real life.
- Mr. Bean tries getting Scrapper down from a tree by using his car to pull the tree down closer to him but it instead catapults Scrapper up into the air and into space.
- Scrapper rolls a barn of yarn into the vacuum which causes the vacuum to explode once Mrs. Wicket comes in.
- Bad ending: Mr. Bean gets a black eye from Mrs. Wicket and gets sent to the hospital, when it looks like Mr. Bean will finally have some rest and relaxation, Scrapper suddenly appears and attacks Mr. Bean.
- A few animation errors such as the portrait of Mrs. Wicket having a fish on her nose when she calls Mr. Bean that she's coming back even though the portrait didn’t had a fish on her nose after the can of cat food exploded.
Redeeming Qualities
- Mr. Bean is still likable.
- Scrapper getting back together with Mrs. Wicket was heartwarming.
- A few funny moments such as Mr. Bean putting a parking ticket on his car so he can avoid getting a parking ticket.
