Artisan Entertainment was a major motion picture company that was founded in 1980. The company was originally called U.S.A. Home Video from 1983 to 1987. The company than changed its name to International Video Entertainment, which ran from 1988 to 1998. Probably the most recognizable and iconic film made by Artisan is the 1999 found-footage horror mockumentary The Blair Witch Project. In 2003, Artisan Entertainment merged into Lionsgate Entertainment.
