Cannon Pictures was a film distribution company that was launched on October 23, 1967 until it went out of business in December 1994 due to the near-collapse of parent company MGM. Many of its films were hits (eg. Runaway Train with Jon Voight, Eric Roberts and Rebecca DeMornay) while some of the other films the company distributed flopped at the box office including the critically panned Superman IV: The Quest For Peace and Masters of the Universe.
