Wakakusa no Charlotte (若草のシャルロット, lit. the Young Grass of Charlotte) is an anime series produced by Nippon Animation Co. Ltd. It was first aired in Japan between October 29, 1977, and May 27, 1978, and is based on an original story by screenwriter Shun'ichi Yukimuro (as opposed to an existing manga).[1]

Good Qualities

  1. The story of Charlotte was a happy girl, surrounded by a loving father and many friendly animals. who is now living on a ranch in Quebec, Canada.
  2. This animation and background looks very great and nice
  3. Likable characters, such as Charlotte, Sandy, Sammy Gordon, Knight and André Montburn (father of Charlotte)
  4. Japanese opening and ending theme songs was very great.
  5. The designs looks very good.
  6. Amazing voice acting, Keiko Yokozawa, Yoshito Yasuhara and Ichirô Murakoshi.

Bad Qualities

  1. This series was never English dub at all.
  2. Unlikable characters, such as Gordon, Garson, Bella, Marie Moreau and Andre's evil cousin Albert Montburn.
  3. The finale ending was very bad, when Sandy is moving to France and says goodbye to Charlotte.
  4. There's a controversial problem in this series, the first part of the series centers on a young woman being kidnapped by her family and taken to her country of ethnic origin against her will. Honour killings and forced kidnappings have significantly increased in Canada after the 2000s.
