Choujin Sentai Jetman is a video game based off the Super Sentai series of the same name. It was released for the Family Computer (or Famicom; known outside Japan as the Nintendo Entertainment System), and was published by Toei.

Why It Rocks

  1. Tight and responsive controls that are very solid, the jetmans will never, ever be unresponsive, thanks to how well programmed this game is.
  2. The gameplay is really fun and is better than most Power Rangers games made in the 1990s at the time, since here it is really solid, has great combat, and the overall mechanics are really solid, but this is to be expected since, after all, it was developed by Natsume.
  3. Excellent soundtrack.
  4. There are two types of gameplay for the rangers here, which are:
    • The swordfighter is the best character of the game since they are powerful and are the most fun to play. These types of characters are the red, black, and yellow rangers (to an extent).
    • The Gunfighters that are not as great as the Swordfighter but still aren't unplayable. The main highlight of these types of rangers is that they can attack in a longer range but take more hits to kill an enemy.
  5. Great graphics for a 1991 NES game, with many detailed backgrounds and sprites, and the graphics also being really colorful, which make them really nice to look at.
  6. Awesome boss fights that are some of the best from a Super Santai game (or even a Power Rangers game in that matter), since they are challenging and fun, not to mention that there is some strategy here and there, but how some of them can be frustrating.
  7. Challenging difficulty that is not too hard, not too easy, but at the same time it is beginner-friendly; the game is also much more balanced than most of the games in the franchises.
  8. Great level of design.
  9. The cutscene before the bosses is great and also impressive for a NES game; it is also epic to look at.

Bad Qualities

  1. The game is way too short, as there are only 6 areas, and you can beat the game in less than 20 minutes.
  2. Sometime, the bosses might be a bit too frustrating, despite being great, but they aren't as bad as they were in the sequel on Famicom.
    • The reason why bosses are a bit difficult is this bosses is a luck-based. You do mashing the button at the right time and when the boss attack you, you blocked it or you getting hit.
  3. The gun fighters are really flawed since they are very underpowered and they take a lot of hits to kill an enemy (about 3 to 4 hits), and they might have a hard time killing an enemy.
