Christmas with Holly is a Live-Action, Christmas, Drama, Romance TV film created by Hallmark Chanel. It is based off of the 2012 book Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor which was created by Lisa Kleypas and was first aired on December 9, 2012 in ABC.
Plot
Holly Nagle has not spoken a word since her mother died in a tragic car accident. Her uncle, and legal guardian, Mark Nagle, decides that it's time for him and Holly to start a new life. They do this by moving from Seattle to Friday Harbor to live with Mark's brothers in their vineyard. While there, Mark and Holly meet Maggie Conway who has also just moved to Friday Harbor. Maggie leaves the city after being left at the altar by her fiancé and opens up a toy store. Together, these three lost souls discover each other and the lives they always dreamed they could have.
Why This Movie Is Holly(But In A Great Way)
- For one thing, the premise of this movie is very interesting, as it's a simply Slice-Of-Life movie base on realism.
- Well though out, memorable and likeable characters.
- Holly is among one of the single greatest characters of this film who gains tones of development, going from a shy and timed girl to a highly experience child.
- It stays loyal to the Source-Meteral of the original book
- Beautiful Soundtrack that is wonderfully composed by Nathan Wang.
- The Side-Characters are really likeable, with Scott Nagle(the second youngest brother) being a fun comic-relieve that balances out the heart-warming tone.
- Great sense of Drama that adds some intensity to the film while not being too over dramatic unlike some other films that try too hard to be dramatic.
- The ending is SUPER emotional and will leave you in tears.
Bad Qualities
- Because of Christmas with Holly being a TV movie, there is sadly no physical release of the film as of December 23, 2024.
- While a majority of characters are likable, Mark's formal girlfriend is a very unlikable character as she tries to insist Mark to ignore Holly when he got a call that Holly got sick.
