A crappy tennis game, which is worth missing the climax.

Climax Tennis: WTA Tour Edition (also known as WTA Tour Tennis: Pro Evolution for the GameCube and Xbox, in North America as WTA Tour Tennis and in Europe as Pro Tennis: WTA Tour) is a tennis game developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Osaka and published by Konami. It was released in early 2002 for the PlayStation 2 and ported later that year to GameCube and Xbox.
Why It Loses The Match
- It has little to no creativity from other tennis games.
- No male players, since it only features female players that represent the WTA Tour.
- The controls are very sluggish. Even the Mario Tennis games and the Virtua Tennis games have no problem with them.
- The graphics, including the player models, are weak.
- The announcing and voice acting are horrible.
- No mini-games.
- Even if you beat the Tour mode, there is nothing to unlock.
The Only Redeeming Quality
- While allowing female athletes to star in their own game could be cool, Konami would adopt the concept for its wrestling game Rumble Roses, which was released nearly 3 years later.
Reception
Climax Tennis: WTA Tour Edition received mixed-to-negative reviews from the critics. On Metacritic, it has scores of 50 and 55 for PlayStation 2 and GameCube, respectively.[1]
