Coin Master is a free, single-player, casual mobile game created by Israeli studio Moon Active. It was released on Android and iOS in 2015, the game got popular during 2019 for its infamous advertisements.

Gameplay

You use the slot machines to get coins, and sometimes you can attack and raid villages which can get you a bunch of coins used to upgrade your village.

The number of attempts is limited to seven per hour, but additional attempts and items can be purchased in chests. Also, free spins are gifted by Coin Master through links on their social channels and by subscribing to their email newsletter. There are also numerous websites that collect these links to make it easy for you to collect all the free gift rewards.

Strategy

A fortune is acquired by spinning and winning, attacking another player's village, or raiding another player’s fortune. A maximum of five shields, as well as the pet Rhino, can be used to defend villages. When a player's village is attacked, the game also allows a "revenge" so a player can launch a counterattack.

Level

Players advance to the next village once theirs is built. The levels continuously get more challenging as the player progresses. As of October 2021, Coin Master has 389 levels.

Spins

The game is based on the slot machine mechanism. In order to play the game, you need spins. Each day you receive up to 110 free spins  and there are other ways to obtain them like inviting Facebook friends to join the game, sending gifts to your friends and receiving a reward, following Coin Master on social media (they free spins coins every day), watching in-game video ads and levelling up your villages.

Why It Should Get Its Village Raided

  1. It's a rip-off of Pirate Kings (a game that has the same exact gameplay and was released two years earlier) but worse.
  2. Repetitive Gameplay: All you do is use the slot machine for coins and raid villages. That's all you do in this game.
  3. When you use up all of your spins, you have to pay $4.99 just for 70 spins. That is very overpriced, and it would be better waiting a day for the spins.
    • You need those spins just to get more coins to upgrade your village, if you end up saving up some coins and leave the game just to wait for the spins. Sometimes the game will steal your coins from you. Meaning you must start over from scratch to get your coins again.
  4. You can only collect 3 shields at a time, as the other shields just convert into spins.
    • Shields are mostly useless, as all they do is prevent players from attacking your village.
  5. The game was very infamous in 2019 for its advertisements, in which are poorly made and use celebrities just to get the game more downloads.
  6. Repetitive soundtrack, in which there are only 2 songs in the entire game. The village theme and the raiding/attack theme.
  7. You need online connection just to play this, despite the game playing like a single player game.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Beautiful graphics, for all of the environments and the villages.
  2. There are events in the game, where you can get free spins. In which can be helpful to get coins faster.

Trivia

  1. The game's advertisements became internet memes, due to how bad they are.
