College Football 25 (or EA Sports College Football 25) is a video game based on college football, developed by EA Orlando and published by EA Sports. It is a part of the EA Sports College Football game series and the first such game in eleven years since NCAA Football 14 in 2013.
Good Qualities
- First of all, It takes most of the problems from the modern Madden NFL games and fixes them.
- The faces for the generated players in Dynasty and Road to Glory modes all have different faces thanks to AI. In Madden if a couple years pass in Franchise mode, many players will have the same face.
- Decent graphics, despite using the Frostbite Engine (which was a FPS games and not a sports games) and a little bit unpolished.
- Decent gameplay, with new features here and there.
- There's over hundred of the college teams are available, and it's feels right.
- Despite the infamous Ultimate Team, it's nice to see that has good loot box animation and better rewards to earn Ultimate Team points.
- Good AI, despite being poor sometimes.
- Dynasty Mode is a better than Franchise mode in Madden with better management here and there.
- You can create your team and stadium (only limited to field) via website and then connect with in this games.
- The UI interface is better than Madden, even it could be repetitive with the same UI interface like Madden did in the future.
- The music is very good, it's school like and it's fitting on this game.
Bad Qualities
- As expected for Frostbite engine, the game can be quitely unpolished, with some bugs and glitches here and there, and there's some performance issues even for ninth-gen console.
- The animation is also poor and clunky that your move like a robot.
- The game is now have a monopoly Ultimate Team packs, this is why EA is so greedy that the game becoming a live service garbage, and this is the reason why EA has so much money on this game even for premium ones. This could be a potential to ruining the College Football game with this greedy scheme.
- While the AI is decent, the AI can be quitely poor.
- Some UI look awful, like messages, it looks like a typical mobile message like Twitter/X app.
- The main menu UI looks like it was ripped straight out of the NHL games from 22 onwards.
- You can't play with local in the dynasty mode, which feels restricted at some points.
- Several features has been yet returning, which could be disappointing because of that.
- The game is sometimes a reskin to Madden due to how similar for graphics and gameplay.
- Sadly, the game doesn't have a PC Ports, which led be disappointed for PC gamers.
Reception
