Déjalo Ahora
"Con la nueva campaña antitabaco del gobierno me dan ganas de volver a fumar, inhalar tolueno y comerme los melone' hasta con PEPAAAA (With the new anti-tobacco campaign from the government, it makes me want to return smoking, inhale toluene and eat melons even with SEEEEEDS)"

Undeniably one of the worst CGI commercials in existence.

Déjalo Ahora is an advertising campaign ran by the Chilean government in 2016, meant to teach 5th-to-7th grade students about the dangers of smoking.[2]
The commercial was made with CGI animation and stars a woman with a green shirt and a red cap, who sings to the people in the bus a hip-hop song about how smoking is bad for their health.
The commercial became notorious for its negative reception, and became a viral internet meme in Chile, the country in which the commercial was made in.
Porqué huele a cenicero (Why It Smells Like An Ashtray)
- First of all, the most infamous part of this commercial is the CGI animation, which is so awful it makes Snow White and the 7 Clever Boys's box art look like a masterpiece. Even a Chilean TV bumper from the '90s tends to have better CGI, and by that we mean, just look at these.
- As for the music, the instrumental is just a repetitive four-second loop of drums and what appear to be honks. The vocals aren't any good either, as the woman sounds like she's singing out of sync.
- Due to the poor CGI as mentioned in WISLAA#1, the characters tend to look so ugly and even very disturbing, especially those that are smiling. They look like they were taken from a cheaply-made mobile game.
- And speaking of which, the fact that the characters tend to smile means that they're unintentionally giving a "smoking is good" message, even though this commercial is meant to teach the exact opposite.[3]
- The bus at the start isn't even a 3D model. It just straight up looks like a badly edited PNG, with the "Déjalo Ahora" logo plastered in.
- The animations tend to look very linear and clunky. Just go to 0:22 and 0:27, respectively.
- The man at the near end looks like he doesn't seem to be touching his phone's screen at all, which shows how lazy they were making this commercial.
- Even lazier is that the 3D models were straight up free skins taken from the free 3D animation platform Mixamo, meaning that they don't even care about making original models for this commercial.[4]
- Overall, despite being made on a budget of three million pesos,[2] it looks more like if it were made with an even lower budget, due to the reasons explained above. Even an indie 3D animation with less budget tends to look better.
Calidades anti-tabaco (Anti-Tobacco Qualities)
- The commercial does at least try to teach you a good moral, about how smoking is bad for your body, although here, it is unfortunately very poorly executed.
- In 2022, the same government made an anime-like anti-tobacco campaign, which in comparison has even better animation, and the moral explained before is very well executed.[5]
Recepción (Reception)
Unsurprisingly, social media made fun of this commercial shortly after its initial creation, even leading to a lot of parodies, mainly those made by Chilean Way[6] and NANO,[7] and became a local internet meme. It was even sometimes compared to the Vive sin drogas commercial made by TV Azteca in Mexico.
