"Dark Dawn"
June 14, 2017 in the UK had a dark dawn with ADULTS whining over losing TEDDY BEARS in Danger Mouse. Not a good way for a series premiere. Fortunately it had a bright dusk with The Admirable Penfold.

Dark Dawn is the first episode of the second series of the reboot Danger Mouse. It was paired up with The Admirable Penfold.

Plot

The Princess becomes a teenager, known as Dark Dawn, and forgets her teddy bear, Mr. Snuggles, so he makes all the teddy bears in the world, including Penfold's teddy bear, Bernard, come to life and they help him take over the world and betray their owners.

Why It Dawned in Dark

  1. This episode is basically the Danger Mouse version of "The City of Frownsville" and "Crying Smurfs".
  2. Some things make no sense. If Dawn gave up Mr. Snuggles when she was a teenager, then how come, Penfold, Professor Squawkencluck, Colonel K, or the Narrator didn't give theirs up, and they are ADULTS.
    • Another thing is that out of all the people, Penfold didn't cry ONCE when he lost Bernard, despite the fact that he is a coward and it is the most legitimate for him to still have a teddy bear despite being an adult.
  3. To make matters worse, Danger Mouse himself is the "flawless guy", not having a teddy bear or stuffed animal at all.
  4. The cries from the people can get very annoying, and just like The City of Frownsville, they try to make us feel bad, but it instead annoys us.
  5. As mentioned in WIS4, the cries are very annoying, but Squawkencluck is the most annoying, and they tried to make a joke about it, saying that "I think she's speaking Spanish", but no laughs from the audience.
  6. The fight with Dawn and Mr. Snuggles, although cool, the reason behind this is stupid, being that she forgot about Snuggles.
  7. Half-bad ending: Bernard becomes lifeless once more, and Danger Mouse said "Well he was a monster", offending Penfold.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. It's good to know Penfold's teddy bear's name.
  2. "Nobody takes my Bernard!"
  3. As mentioned in WIS6, despite the reason behind the fight being stupid, it's still cool to watch.
  4. Half-decent ending: Dawn finally apologizes to Snuggles and cries, and a decent reason why. Also, Penfold saves Bernard from falling to his death and Bernard finally starts to like his owner.

Trivia

  • It was originally going to air on 23 May 2017 with The Admirable Penfold as Danger Mouse Day, but was postponed to 14 June.
