Robert Kane was an American comic book writer, animator and artist who co-created, with Bill Finger, the DC Comics character Batman. Kane also co-created the animated series Cool McCool.
Death
Bob Kane, 83, the cartoonist whose Batman character helped launch the comic book industry in the late 1930s and joined Superman in spawning generations of fictional superheroes, died Nov. 3 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He had been sick for some time, but the cause of his death was not disclosed.
