Donald Henry Pleasence (5 October 1919 - 2 February 1995) was an English actor. He was best known for his role as Dr. Samuel Loomis in Halloween (1978) and four of its sequels. Pleasence was also known for staring in other films like You Only Live Twice, Escape From New York, THX 1138, Prince of Darkness and Wake in Fright.

Unfortunately, he died on 2 February 1995 of heart failure in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France at the age of 75, with his final film role being Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, which came out nearly eight months after his death and was dedicated to his memory.
