On August 26, 1980, director and animator Tex Avery died of lung cancer at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank, California at age 72. He is buried in Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills Cemetery. He was famously known for worked on Leon Schlesinger Studios and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio. Avery later came up with an idea of show about a koala and he called it "The Kwicky Koala Show". He made the series and it can be seen right here. After his death, Avery never got to see his characters Droopy Dog and the Wolf appear in Filmation series The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show, he also never got to see his Hanna-Barbera series The Kwicky Koala Show.

Thank you for the cartoons you made Avery, we'll miss you and even Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety, Elmer Fudd, Granny, Cecil Turtle, Droopy Dog, the Wolf, Red Hot Riding Hood, Screwy Squirrel, George and Junior, Butch Dog, Chilly Willy, Maggie and Sam and others.
