Destroy All Humans! is an action-adventure platform video game released in on June 21, 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox by THQ. It was followed by Destroy All Humans! 2, Destroy All Humans!: Big Willy Unleashed, and Destroy All Humans!: Path of the Furon. In late 2016, both Destroy All Humans and Destroy All Humans 2 were re-released on the PlayStation 4 with the graphics upsized to 1080P. 

On June 7th, 2019, THQ Nordic and Black Forest Games released the reveal trailer of the Destroy All Humans! remake for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows as it was released in July 28, 2020.

Plot

Destroy All Humans revolves around Cryptosporidium 137, an alien of the Furon Race. In 1959 he arrives on Earth to search for his predecessor clone, Cryptosporidium 136, who went missing in 1947 after Orthopox 13 sent him to earth on a similar mission. Pox sends Crypto on a mission to harvest human brain stems - which contain Furon DNA due to an encounter between Furon warriors and humans in ancient times - to prevent his species from going extinct. To accomplish his mission, he must defeat Majestic, a shadowy government organization led by a black-clad figure named Silhouette. After accomplishing this, Crypto takes over the United States by posing as the President.  

Why It's One Giant Step

1. The game is very humorous and takes place in a more satirical 1950's America. Crypto and Orthopox who make fun of the human race and their customs, with the humans being more cartoony versions of your average person from that time period.
2. You're given a large amount of alien weaponry for killing humans.
   • Zap-O-Matic: Fires a burst of electricity and electrocutes the target. The stream of electricity can be chained between targets. It doesn't use ammo, but recharges instead.
   • Anal Probe: It works by being charged and then shot. A fully charged shot sends a Pedestrian or a Cop running before their heads explode.
3. Weapons can be upgraded using brain stems from the flying saucer.  
4. Excellent environments that allow for a lot of enjoyable destruction.
5. While you can follow the missions, the game allows the player to roam around freely, randomly kill humans, and completing side missions.  
6. Great graphics for its time with the remake enchancing the artstyle making it much closer to cartoony.

Bad Qualities

1. The freedom to create chaos is terrific, but some missions lack variety.
2. The side missions seemed tacked on, and were really boring, uninteresting, and sometimes frustrating.
3. The Xbox version has a backwards compatibility issue on the 360 where weapon sounds cut out during periods of high activity.
