Dino Crisis 2 is an action-adventure video game for the PlayStation developed by Capcom in 2000. It is a sequel to the 1999 survival horror game Dino Crisis and was followed by Dino Crisis 3 in 2003

Plot

After the events of the previous game, unsafe research into time-distorting Third Energy has resulted in an entire research base, military institution, and fictional metropolis of Edward City to be transported to another time; along with all of its inhabitants. Secret Operations Raid Team operative Regina returns as one of the main playable characters.

Why It Rocks

  1. Once again control Regina in another exciting dinosaur-filled adventure, courtesy from the creators of Resident Evil!
  2. The player switches between controlling Regina and Dylan (another survivor who joins Regina) at specific points during the story.
  3. Action filled stages in which you score points depending on your performance, which is reminiscent of old arcade games.
  4. Solver clever puzzles as both characters.
  5. Old and new terrifying dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures.
  6. Once again run for your life at the chilling sight of the infamous T-Rex just like the first game.
  7. The game abandons the survival-horror from the first game and bring upon a more action oriented gameplay (much to some fans' discontent).
  8. Much more improved graphics and mechanics from the previous game.
  9. Epic and beautifully detailed environments.

Reception

The Cincinnati Enquirer gave the game four stars out of five, stating that, "overall, Dino Crisis 2 is a fantastic sequel that delivers more adrenaline-pumping action, beautiful scenery and a hearty dose of terror."

Like its predecessor, Dino Crisis 2 was a commercial success, with the PlayStation version selling 1.19 million copies worldwide. Capcom would later re-release the game for PC, and brought it to PlayStation Network in the US and Japan.
