Disney's Aladdin is a video game developed in 1993 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and is based off the critically acclaimed Disney movie of the same name. It was developed and published by Capcom. The game was ported to the Game Boy Advance but that port was not as well received.
Plot
Loosely following the movie, Aladdin must defeat the evil sorcerer Jafar and win the heart of Princess Jasmine.
Why It Rocks
- Original music although some music from the film appears.
- Fluent controls.
- Aladdin can throw apples to kill small enemies and stuns larger enemies.
- Aladdin can collect red jewels. Collecting at least 50 of them unlocks an alternate ending.
- While faithful to the movie, the game also has stages not seen in the film.
- The music comes straight from the movie. Enjoy classics like Friend Like Me and A Whole New World.
- Fun and entertaining levels (or is it).
- Welcome to Agrabah! City of mystery, of enchantment, of the finest merchandise of the river Jordan...I can see that you're only interested in the exceptionally rare...I think, then, you would be rewarded to consider...this!
- When you complete a level, you can see a mugshots of characters to enter a password.
The Only Bad Quality
- False Advertising: The box art shows Aladdin with a sword, when you never get to use one in the game.
Reception
Disney's Aladdin has a 3.68 rating on GameFAQs. The GBA port was not as well received and has a 3.58 rating on GameFAQs.
