Disney's House of Mouse is an animated series that aired from 2001 to 2003. It is the spin-off to the short-lived but still well-liked Mickey Mouse Works.

Plot

Mickey and his friends run their theater to invite everyone (specifically the Disney characters) to showcase cartoons based on the shorts of Mickey Mouse and his friends.

Why It's a Clubhouse That Rocks

  1. The biggest reason this show was a big hit was the huge massive crossover of Disney IPs interacting with each other like Beast with Cruella de Vil the Mad Hatter with Judge Claude Frollo or Hades falling in love with Maleficent, the Mistress of All Evil.
  2. Many of the animated shorts featured on the show were featured on Mickey's Mouse Works, hence why this was a spin-off.
  3. Many episodes focus on a certain theme and the cartoons used help with it. For instance, in the Episode Max's Embarrassing Date, the cartoons focused on the theme of romance, though it did have a short on bike Mickey used to unintentionally embarrass Max.
  4. The Disney Villains are rendered a bit harmless and silly in this show, (except in the film Mickey's House of Villains) and even help to save the day. For instance, an episode revolved around Pete sabotaging the air conditioning at the House of Mouse causing almost everyone to leave. Pete almost declares victory when Hades stays behind as he enjoys the heat.
  5. Many voice actors reprise their roles in the more modern Disney films and shows during the time. Scott Weinger reprises his role as Aladdin and James Woods reprises his role as Hades.
  6. The animation is smooth.
  7. A lot of old Disney characters appeared like Susie the Little Blue Coupe (The inspiration for Cars), Herbie, Bambi, and all the other characters who appeared in this show.
  8. Occasionally, it would showcase some awesome musical numbers, such as "Big Bad Wolf Daddy".
  9. The show spawned 2 films that are great, Disney's House of Villains and Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse.

Bad Qualities

  1. Sadly, most of the shorts are plagiarized from Mickey Mouse Works.
  2. Some mean-spirited moments like the audience jeering at Donald while acting like Mickey.
  3. Daisy Duck is still flanderized in this show just like in Mickey Mouse Works.
  4. In the 3rd season, the holiday airings are out of place, especially the Christmas episodes being placed before Halloween episodes.
