"Don't Move" is the third part of the ninth episode in the first season of Garfield and Friends.

Plot

Garfield wanders into a fish shop to eat, telling Odie to sit on an X drawn on the sidewalk and not move. Odie then gets caught by the dog catcher, which results in an unusual trip around the city.

Why It Doesn't Move (In a Good Way)

  1. Although Garfield felt bad for saying "no" to Odie when he wanted to go to Tropical Fish with him, it's kind of justified when he said that he'll just get into trouble.
  2. The polka dance Garfield and Odie do on the road is very nice and cool.
  3. Garfield's plan to get into Tropical Fish is very clever, as he puts on a disguise and tells Odie to stay put & not to get into trouble, along with the way Odie escaped from the Dog Pound truck & the many other vehicles he landed on.
  4. The pelican was very kind to lead Odie from the garbage truck and onto the ground.
  5. Funny Ending: When Odie lands back on the footpath near Tropical Fish after landing on many vehicles, Garfield comes out of Tropical Fish, notices that Odie's a few inches off from the X that he was supposed to stand on, looks at him and said "you moved" - which is funny to some.

The Only Bad Quality That Don't Move

  1. The manager driving the Dog Pound truck was unlikable for capturing Odie and doesn't even bother asking him if he's stray/lost or not, but he's only seen for 30 seconds.

Reception

It holds a rating of 7.2/10 on IMDB.

Trivia

  • The scene where Garfield and Odie do the polka together on the road would later be used in the seasons 3-6 theme song, "Ready to Party".
  • In the fish shop, Garfield notes that there are "a lot of fish jokes on the show this week," referring to earlier fish jokes from "The Binky Show".
