Double Dare 2000 is an attempted update of the classic Nickelodeon game show Double Dare. As the name implies, it aired in 2000.
Why It Sucks
- A terrible host in Jason Harris.
- Tiffany Phelps, the co-host, tries too hard to be hip, and is too shrill.
- Atrocious Triple Dare Challenge mechanic. Original host Marc Summers (who was reduced to executive consultant) admitted the show would’ve been better without it.
- The asinine WCW 2000 week. This was the year where WCW was already at an all-time low, and this event didn't help whatsoever.
- Some of the new obstacles are too difficult.
- It was so bad, it took 18 years for another Double Dare revival to come.
The Only Redeeming Quality
- The logo is good.
Trivia
- Unlike the original Double Dare series (the Paramount+ release of which does not include any of the episodes that weren't aired on Nick GaS or any spin-offs and some episodes of which run at 30 fps or suffer from tape fuzz, making them look like they were taken from a VHS tape rather than a master tape), DD2000 has been preserved in its original quality and has every episode accounted for.
