Plot

Timmy wishes himself to lack emotions, because he is humiliated by everyone in the pool incident.

Emotionless Qualities

  1. Misleading title card: Timmy is seen having lots of emotions in the title card, like acting evil, getting cheerful, or fidgeting himself, but they do not appear in this episode.
  2. This concept, although clever, comes off as poorly-written as Timmy becomes emotionless after the pool incident causing him to become dull and boring. To be fair, this episode's premise of being emotionless is kind of okay, but it would have been providing missed opportunities like Timmy giving a smile while emotionless.
    • Inside Out, a movie that came out 11 years later, also has this concept, but that one handled well since the main character, Riley, was emotionless because Joy and Sadness are missing, until they return to make her look normal.
    • The reason why he wants it without emotions because he is humiliated in public after his pool incident, which is public nudity and it comes out as inappropriate for a children's show.
      • Cosmo is also naked shortly until Wanda wishes him with clothes.
  3. Timmy suffers two negative traits this episode:
    • Timmy is too scared to jump on the high on the jumping platform, until Francis scares him and falls into the pool, causing him to become naked when he loses his trunks. This even happens again when Cosmo gives his emotions back in this head, he becomes scared to jump off the volcano, causing massive injuries in the end.
    • After wishing without emotions, he becomes a kid without emotions and he says questionable things, causing others to say that he is weird.
  4. While Trixie is not at her absolute worst here, she says some pretty mean things, like laughing at Timmy at the pool while he is naked, and calling him weird after him saying questionable lines.
    • She even dates Chester after Timmy is emotionless, resulting in giving Chester rashes.
  5. Francis and Mr. Crocker are also mean to Timmy, and they are only there to torment him for nothing, despite they get their comeuppances by emotionless Timmy by just saying dull words to them.
    • While Cosmo is not unlikable, he gets his comeuppance by Timmy by adding a piranha in the fishbowl just to attack him, because the former returns Timmy's emotions back to him, only to get killed.
  6. The emotions act completely out of character in one scene after Timmy wishes Cosmo and Wanda to remove his emotions.
  7. This is also a Chester torture episode, because when Trixie refuses to praise Timmy, due to the lack of emotions, she dates him instead.
  8. While Timmy's emotionless state help repel dangerous hazards like scissors, sharks, etc., it makes no sense, since they are pointless to do them in real life, thus coming out as a plot hole.

Emotional Qualities

  1. Everyone, especially Timmy in his normal state, is likable.
  2. Emotionless Timmy does repel dangerous obstacles, despite being pointless.
  3. At least Cosmo and Wanda defeated Dark Vulcan, and Timmy rescues Trixie and Chester after his fear of heights.
  4. Good Moral: Always show people's emotions than suppressing them.
  5. Veronica's line, "Personal insult not working!"
    • Common sense emotion's line, "Whatever you do, don't jump!"
  6. The title card, despite misleading, is very creative, as it shows different Timmy's face expressions.

Trivia

  • Cosmo and Timmy are seen naked for the second time, the first being Crime Wave.
  • Common sense is part of Timmy's emotions, despite not being it in real life.
  • The cyan unnamed emotion is seen once despite being part of Timmy's emotions, as other emotions are seen more than once in this episode.
