Enchanted Tiki Dreams is Episode 145b of and the 36th episode of the 7th season of SpongeBob SquarePants.

Why It Is Enchanted

  1. It's a happy and relaxing Squidward episode for a change.
  2. This episode seems like an apology from the Richard Pursel to fans that hated the Squidward torture episodes, which started in Season 4, but became overused by Season 6, and it was VERY well needed after disasters like “Choir Boys” and “Cephalopod Lodge”.
    • It was also improvement to Sean Charmatz's episodes.
  3. SpongeBob and Patrick learn from their mistakes in past episodes and are at their nicest in this episode. This takes their original personality to a whole new level, where not only do they actually TRY to make Squidward happy, but they tried to by making an artificial tropical paradise for Squidward to relax in.
  4. Good gags, like how Squidward said that SpongeBob is another word for annoying.
  5. Fantastic Ending: Although predictable, Squidward's Tiki Land gets burnt down by Patrick accidentally, but SpongeBob and Patrick manage to make something that will be fun for Squidward, even if they may get hurt.

Bad Qualities

  1. The first half is boring, bland, and feels like your typical Squidward torture episode. Thankfully, it's not the meat of the episode, and picks itself up later on, as it does have some good gags, and the writers do seem like they want to show SpongeBob's sympathetic and friendly side.

Reception

It was considered one of the best episodes of Season 7 for feeling like the opposite of a Squidward torture. It holds a 7.2/10 in IMDb with Buried in Time.
