Synopsis

You are one of the world's last defenders, a warrior named Avil equipped with the skill, speed and strength to oppose the endless wave of Ravenii and prevent a fate worse than death: Extinction.

Why It Has Gone Extinct

  1. The story is really poor.
  2. The graphics while good graphics and looks cartoony, it looks like the generation behind.
  3. The gameplay is very repetitive; protect the building and help civilians to safety and fight the monsters.
    • Not to mention, the map overall is actually the same, despite the environment is different.
  4. There's not so much enemy variety, mostly are flying enemies, ground enemies and giants.
  5. The gameplay overall is really frustrating. For example; you killed the enemies, but when many time the enemies is keep coming, the civilian get killed and the building is getting destroyed.
  6. The upgrade system is interesting idea, but the thing is actually the same, making the upgradeable system is pointless. The only to be upgraded is health and magic meter.
  7. Poor hit detection that could be missed to the enemies.
  8. Poor control which can be difficult to hit the enemies and the climbing seems really stiff.
  9. There's no final boss in the final mission.
  10. Mediocre voice actors.
  11. Bland and generic soundtrack.
  12. The game is really overpriced, cost $60, and it's not worth for buy this due to poor quality of this game.
  13. Sequel-bait ending: After Avil rescuing all civilians, unfortunately, he sacrificing himself to battling against bunch of the monsters and xandra, now become a new leader, will be slaying all the monster, hinting the sequel that never happen due to poor reception.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The concept of this game is good, like Shadow of Colossus meets Attack on Titan. But the execution is absolutely poor.
  2. Cutting the giant monster is absolutely satisfying.
  3. The cutscene artstyle, while it is slideshow is actually good.
  4. As mentioned above, while the graphics looks like a generation behind, the graphics is still good and cartoony.
  5. While the soundtrack is really bland and generic, it's fit on this game, as the music is very medieval theme.

Reception

The game received mixed to negative reception. In the Rapid Fire Review on the AngryJoeShow channel, it give rating 3/10.
