"Fly to the Sun" is the 21st episode of Season 4 of Oggy and the Cockroaches.
Plot
Following an explosion provoked by the cockroaches, the house and everyone inside find themselves in outer space and heading straight for the sun. Jack, who has remained on earth, is going to do everything he can so his cousin won’t get fried!
Why It Finally Went to the Sun
- The episode's plot is really creative and heck, even better than "Airship House" as it involves Oggy's house going to space. Not only that, but also features a true threat to the house that is never-before seen!
- The way Oggy's house went to space is really shocking and hilarious as the cockroaches think it was only going to explode the fridge but they were wrong as they instead brought the episode's unique twist.
- The ways that Jack tries to rescue Oggy such as using washing lines are funny and creative despite Bob torturing him.
- Lots of funny moments, such as when Oggy's tail got stuck on the window, which gave a expression you would see in The Simpsons.
- The episode even changed the Death Star from the Star Wars franchise that Jack attracted with the magnet vehicle to avoid copyright issues.
- When Jack finally goes to space, the house is nearing the sun as the episode then gets a dark tone. The cockroaches even got aware of the problem and stick to Oggy, realizing their fault.
- Jack is likable as he rescues Oggy's house as well as the characters from being burnt and takes it back to Earth.
- Oggy shows a caring personality in the end as he gives Jack an orange so he isn't hungry all the time.
Sunburnt Qualities
- It still count as a torture episode for Jack, as he fail everytime he tries to rescue Oggy and Bob tortures him instead.
- The ending can be considered bad as Jack was sent to prison as Bob tries to beat him up when Oggy gives him an orange.
Trivia
- It has the same episode's title theme as Night Watchmen.
- One of the things Jack attracted with the magnet vehicle is the Death Star (albeit under construction) from the Star Wars franchise. In later broadcasts, the Death Star is star-shaped instead of its usual sphere appearance.
- The episode is named Flight to the Sun in the video preview in Cartoon Network Asia's website and on the Oggy Official YouTube channel.
