Fore, Father is the 21st episode of the second season of the FOX animated series Family Guy. It is the 28th episode of the show, the season two finale, the first series finale, and the final episode before the show was officially canceled for the first time before being renewed in 2001.

Plot

Peter ignores Chris in favor of Cleveland's son, who shows a flair for the game of golf.

Bad Qualities

  1. Peter is incredibly unlikable in this episode, as he gives away his own son all because he believes he failed at being his father.
  2. Chris is simply tortured non-stop throughout the entire episode.
  3. The subplot about Stewie going to the pediatrician for his physical isn't very interesting.
  4. The ending was quite bad, Peter and Chris reunite, but then end up destroying lots of cars.
    • Speaking of bad endings, this episode was an awful way to end season 2, and would've been a bad way to end the series had it not been renewed for another season.
  5. In this episode, there is a scene where Quagmire takes Chris to a strip club, despite the latter only being a teenager.
  6. Most of the jokes here were pretty unfunny and were kind of cruel, such as the infamous "Dead guy in my soup" joke.
  7. The animation in this episode, while okay at best, can still be off-modeled in some scenes, considering that Rough Draft Studios doesn't do a good job at being fluid and on model for Family Guy.

Good Qualities

  1. This episode has some really great moments, such as the beginning of the episode where Lois makes the family clean the house.
  2. Even though the ending was bad, at least Peter and Chris reunite each other in the end.
  3. The animation, while still not good by Rough Draft Studios, is okay at best as well as the voice acting.
  4. The subplot, while still not interesting, isn’t as bad as the main plot.
  5. There are still some funny moments here and there.

Trivia

  • Seth MacFarlane, the creator of the show, admitted he hates this episode.
