Virus cuồng loạn (lit: Frantic Virus) is a 2022 Vietnamese zombie horror film by director Nguyễn Ngọc Nhất Duy.

Synopsis

Frantic Virus tells the story of a film crew filming a zombie-themed work at a mountain resort. The whole staff has a real zombie accident, not a movie image anymore. The source of the problem is due to the toxic, unknown foods widely sold on the market that poison people. The zombie crew struggle to survive and enter the airport to seek help from the government and military.

Why This Virus Is Frantic in the Worst Way Possible

  1. The promotional text on the poster is also idiotic and misspelt, creating a cheap feeling.
  2. Absurd premise: The source of these zombies is explained by... toxic, unsafe food being sold on the market, causing food poisoning. The premise alone makes Lost in Mekong Delta look like a masterpiece by comparison.
  3. The plot is thin, and there is no specific main character, let alone a well-written one.
  4. Like Lost in Mekong Delta, zombies in this "movie" are sloppily made up, have a ridiculous gait that resembles drug addicts and is too easy to beat.
  5. Careless voice-overs: The actors' lines and mouth movements don't match. Why did the director not let actors talk without the need for voice-overs? WHY?!
  6. The noises feel like the crew crams whatever noises they find online to create a sense of chaos but fails miserably.

Reception

Since its launch, Frantic Virus has received several negative reviews from moviegoers and professional critics.
