Halo 4 is a 2012 first-person shooter video game developed by 343 Industries and published by Microsoft Studios for the Xbox 360. It is the first main Halo game by 343 Industries and the seventh installment in the Halo franchise.

Why It Rocks

  1. One of the most realistic cinematics and graphics ever seen on a video game, considering the standards of the Xbox 360.
  2. Smooth controls and gameplay that rarely lags.
  3. An all new enemy called Prometheans will now threaten the galaxy.
  4. More lore and backstory of the Forerunners is explained.
  5. The game features a more emotional story between Cortana and Master Chief.
  6. New weapons, maps and other content never seen on previous titles.
  7. Skulls can now be activated before any mission instead of having to find them first.
  8. Kill-cams are now in multiplayer.
  9. Forge mode is still in the game and it is almost the same as Halo: Reach, which is great.

Bad Qualities

  1. The story is confusing at times, mostly because it's based on Halo's extended lore from the external source materials.
  2. Very small campaign, which can be finished very quickly, unless you play it on Legendary Mode.
  3. Weak multiplayer compared to Halo 2 and 3. It unfortunately marked the start of the decline of the franchise due to controversial design choices such as being able to build five load-outs like in Call of Duty, and a magnetic aiming system.
  4. Multiplayer requires you to install 2 or more gigabytes of data to a storage device to play. You can either use the included Disc 2 that comes with the physical copy of the game, or download the multiplayer content from Xbox Live.
  5. If you did not have a Hard Drive installed to the Xbox 360 (it has to be attached to the Hard Drive bay and not a USB storage device) some features are not available, such as replays, file downloading, and kill-cams.
  6. Laughable final boss.

Reception

The game received positive reviews from professional critics and received multiple nominations and awards from the press.
